RevIt! Bellecour Armored Jacket

I spent weeks online searching for an armored jacket I didn't find offensive. I love my blue vintage fringe, but this summer more speed means I want more safety features. I went to Moto Corsa in Portland to try on the Roland Sands Oxford and Riot, but the elbow armor in both jackets floated all the way around my tiny arms. The rad sales team pulled this jacket for me to try. It was a surprise from RevIt, who I associated with more aggressive color paneled offerings.

The length is perfect. It covers any gap you might have and the Velcro gives you options on fit.

It has some great details, cafe racer style collar with snap back tab and quilting inside and on the shoulders. It has a zipper cover on the lower part of the zipper to shield the tank from scratching. It doesn't have venting, which is a bummer, but it fits me great even with the armor in. I tried on a 36 and custom ordered the 34. I'm 5'1" and about 100lbs.

We finally got a spring dry day to rip around together! Eric is so psyched on the new bike.

Last ride?

A lot of layers were required - but it was dry so i went for it. I used a fleece neck warmer, a skull cap and wore my invincible grey wool turtleneck sweater. I had my jeans under my leather pants - and yes, I was cold.

A ride with my Dude

It's running - sort of? It's definitely moving, but not smooth.

Searching for the "perfect" helmet

I wanted to document the adventure in helmets I have had with my mini melon. All I wanted was a smooth surface design, but that was not in the cards.

1. Biltwell Bonanza : size S : borrowed (too big)
2. AMX FX-95 : size S : borrowed (too big)
3. Icon Airmada : size S : borrowed (too big)
4. Bell ? (Crazy Green Tribal Thing) : size XS : too big - blessing, really - so ugly
5. Biltwell Gringo : size XS : purchased (too big - devastating!!)
6. Bell Bullitt : size XS : too big (felt just like the S with the bigger pads in it)
7. Shoei RF 1100 : size XXS : purchased THREE times before having an order complete

I went to Cycle Gear on SE Stark and they didn't have any XXS to try on, only one XS. i called every other dealer in PDX, no one else even had an XS.

A long frustrating process, but finally I have a great helmet on my head.

the perfect fork bag

for me anyway - a vintage coach cross body bag. the straps have detachable hardware i can lace around the fork to ride, and then remove to hit the town in.
