reclaiming gilded art

at nada this week, one of the most popular booths was that of wayne white, an LA artist who once worked as a set designer for "pee wee's playhouse". funny and ironically, really well executed. the first time i saw this idea in play, it was a wedding gift from scott lenhart (ironically, also showing in miami) to vin and meghan. he painted one of his characters into a vintage landscape for fun.
